New CDs
Edwin Roxburgh: Oboe Music has now been released on the Divine Art/Metier label.
 
Chamber Music by Brian Ferneyhough has also recently been released. This CD includes Coloratura for oboe and piano and Allgebrah for oboe and 9 solo strings also on the Divine Art/Metier label.

I am now working on sleeve notes and fianl editing of my latest CD Greatest Hits of all Time:Chamber Music for Oboe. This CD ha sbeen sometime int he making. The works recorded are:
James Clarke - Quintet (oboe and strings)
Christopher Fox - Quintet (oboe and strings)
Roger Redgate - Quintet (oboe and strings)
Howard Skempton - Garland (oboe and strings)
Roger Redgate - Eperons (oboe and percussion)
Michael Finnissy - Greatest Hits of All Time (oboe and small ensemble)
Michael Finnissy - Ceci (oboe and small ensemble)
 
This CD should be released in mid-summer
Two other CD that are in the recording stages at the moment are a disc of music for oboe and electronics and a CD of improvisations - some live and some in the studio.
Concert Performances of Interest

 I will be a guest artist at the Dartmouth College New Music Festival, USA from the 1st to the 5th May. The programmes include the Premiere of Christopher Fox's Headlong for Musette and 'square waves'. Also in the programme are several works for oboe and electronics including Roxburgh's '...at the still point of the turning world...', Holliger's Cardiophony, David Gorton's Erinnerungsspiel and an improvisation with Michael Casey using his SoundSpotter technology. Solo works on the programme include Skempton's Three pieces for oboe, Finnissy's Runnin'Wild, and Redgate's Ausgangspunkte.

I will be performing at a Research event with RedArchDuo at Kingston University ont eh 19th May. Programme to be decided but it will of course be works for oboe and electronics.
I involved in two performances at the International Double Reed Society conference at the Birmingham Conservatoire in July. The conference runs from 21st - 25th July). I am performing at the Junoir Day (22nd) a new work for literally hundreds of oboes and bassons and solo oboe with electronics writen by Roger Redgate. On the Friday (24th) I am giving a recital of music for oboe and electronics. The programme is: Two new works by Joe Cutler and Roger Redgate. Michael Young's oboe_prosthesis, Yuko Ohare's Psychedelic Mirage ( which I premiered last Summer) David Gorton's Erinerungsspiel, and a major improvisation.
Research Work
Paul Archbold and I are in the process of developing some web based teaching materials to offere an understanding of Multiphonics for the oboe. This research material is funded by Kingstron University.
